Study on control of magnetization dynamics in magnetic ultra-thin films with magnetostricition

  • Yasushi Endo Associate Prof. Yasushi Endo

The magnetization dynamics in magnetic ultra-thin films have been of much interest in both the existing magnetic devices (magnetic recording heads and media) and new spintronics devices with low power consumption and high-speed. One of the most dominant parameters in understanding magnetization dynamics is the Gilbert damping constant, which describes the strength of damping torq ue in magnetic thin films. Therefore, thi s research studies both th e origin of magnetization dynamics in magnetic ultra-thin films and control of damping parameter related on the dynamics in these films in order to design and develop these devices.
